About The Position

The Family Resource Worker supports the recruitment, training, and ongoing support of foster parents across multiple programs, including Respite, Intensive Foster Care (IFC), and LIFT. This role assists in the assessment of foster parent applicants, coordinates initial and ongoing training, maintains accurate records, and ensures compliance with licensing and funding requirements. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm. LSW or LSWA licensure must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field (Psychology, Human Services).
  • LSW/LSWA or obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Completion and maintenance of CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving history and reliable vehicle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate EOHHS Virtual Gateway and iFamilyNet systems.
  • Must be a team player with a positive, eager-to-learn attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual/multilingual skills.
  • Experience in public relations, outreach, or training facilitation.
  • Experience with licensing standards, compliance requirements, and foster care administration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the recruitment of individuals and families for foster care programs, including Respite, IFC, and LIFT.
  • Work closely with the recruitment team to assess prospective foster parent applicants.
  • Conduct home visits and interviews to evaluate applicant suitability and readiness.
  • Coordinate and facilitate initial foster parent trainings, including MAPP (Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting) sessions.
  • Organize and provide ongoing training opportunities for current foster parents.
  • Serve as a resource and support for foster families, providing guidance and responding to questions or concerns.
  • Complete and maintain all required documentation in accordance with Kennedy-Donovan Center policies and applicable funding or regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct monthly foster home visits and all required annual licensing activities.
  • Maintain accurate foster family records to comply with DCF and EEC licensing standards.
  • Participate in all required staff, group, and case review meetings.
  • Communicate foster home progress and updates to social workers, supervisors, and relevant team members.
  • Function as an integral team member in the provision of services for children, youth, and families.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure continuity of care and program compliance.
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
