About The Position

This position staffs the Welcome Center, providing first point of contact services and direction to patient and families, visitors, and staff to the Hospital. The role involves providing check-in, badges and health screens for all, in addition to Operator Services. They relay information about the hospital and work in collaboration with other departments to provide optimum support services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of Customer Service experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the public
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions, managing time, prioritizing initiatives, and effectively multi-task
  • Familiarity with, and experience with use of, de-escalation techniques
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member in fast-paced environment
  • High level proficiency with computing and administrative functions, including 45+ typed WPM, GroupWise email or equivalent, Instant Messenger, confirming appointments, navigating multiple databases concurrently
  • Ability to detect irregularities, such as security risks, facility and safety hazards and emergency situations
  • Ability to comprehend numerous organization policies, procedures, concepts and to be able to make decisions using discretion and interpretive judgment
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity, different languages, needs and coping styles

Nice To Haves

  • Two year degree or college equivalent preferred
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems (EMR) preferred
  • Call Center experience preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
