About The Position

This is a classified position for the 2026-27 school year, with a salary per schedule and 240 days of employment (potentially reducible with waiver approval). The Family Resource Coordinator reports to a building-level administrator. The scope of responsibilities involves planning, organizing, implementing, and coordinating a Family Resource/Youth Services Center. This includes mandated programming for full-time childcare for two and three-year-olds, after-school care for children ages four through twelve (full-time during summer and school breaks), families in training (home visits, group meetings, child development monitoring for new/expectant parents), parent and child education (PACE) or similar programs, and health services or referrals. The Youth Services Center component includes referrals to health and social services, employment counseling/training/placement, summer and part-time job development, drug and alcohol abuse counseling, and family crisis and mental health counseling.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Supplemented by three years of related work experience
  • Must pass the Para Educator test in accordance with state regulations or have 48 accredited college hours
  • Knowledge of subject matter in area of assignment
  • Knowledge of short and long-range planning techniques applicable to area of specialty
  • Knowledge of in-service materials, subject matter and methods in area of specialty
  • Knowledge of record-keeping techniques
  • Knowledge of communication skills
  • Knowledge of research methods and report writing techniques
  • Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations related to assigned activities
  • Knowledge of policies and objectives of assigned program and activities
  • Knowledge of principles of training and providing work direction
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of field of specialty
  • Ability to provide leadership to an activity having moderate impact on the District occasionally affecting more than one unit or department, requiring adaptation of standard practices, with limited outside contact while working under general supervision
  • Ability to provide technical assistance to District and school personnel in area of proper specialty
  • Ability to oversee the work of committees and task forces
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to prepare and deliver oral presentations
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, implement and coordinate a project, program or activity and evaluate staff as assigned involved in activities having overall impact on school/district
  • Develop, establish or administer project, program or activity
  • Serve as liaison with other units, departments or outside agencies as required
  • Make recommendations regarding implementation of project, program or activity and evaluate effectiveness as assigned
  • Maintain communication and work closely with district staff, local school staff and the community regarding information, developments and implementation of project, program or activity
  • Prepare and assist in preparation of reports, records and other documentation as required
  • Accumulate and research data, documents and other pertinent information as required
  • Assure compliance with federal, state and district policy, administrative procedures and negotiated agreements as applicable to assignment
