About The Position

Are you a people person who loves connecting with the community and helping families find incredible opportunities for their children? If so, this part-time role is tailor-made for you. As a Rocketship Family Recruiter, your mission will be to share the exciting opportunities available for elementary-aged students at Rocketship Public Schools in Wisconsin, serving the Northside and Southside of Milwaukee. You’ll be the enthusiastic voice and face of Rocketship, inspiring families with the possibilities our schools offer. This role is ideal for an outgoing, charismatic, and community-oriented individual who thrives on meaningful conversations and enjoys engaging families throughout the community. The Family Recruiter will attend community events, family events, youth sports games, local businesses, and other high-traffic locations to connect with prospective families and support student enrollment efforts. This is a part-time, results-driven role focused on generating family interest, supporting the enrollment process, and helping Rocketship meet regional enrollment goals. The successful candidate will be expected to support outreach initiatives, maintain consistent follow-up with prospective families, and contribute toward enrollment and community engagement objectives. Bonus points if you’re multilingual, especially Spanish, as it’s a fantastic asset in our diverse and vibrant communities, but it’s not a requirement. Requirements

  • A passion for Rocketship’s mission to eliminate the achievement gap and a belief that all students can achieve academic success
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Outgoing and comfortable engaging with families and community members in public settings
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong PC-based computer skills and ability to learn new computer programs quickly
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in sensitive situations
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to work a flexible part-time schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends based on recruitment and event needs
  • Previous experience in community outreach, customer service, recruiting, enrollment support, sales, or marketing preferred
  • Spanish-speaking ability preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Canvassing within recruitment areas specified by the recruitment plan you are helping to execute
  • Canvassing includes, but is not limited to, knocking on doors, making contact with local community groups and businesses, and distributing informational materials to prospective families at events and high-traffic locations
  • Attend community events, family events, youth sports games, local fairs, neighborhood events, and other approved community outreach activities to promote Rocketship Public Schools
  • Engage prospective families at community centers, local businesses, parks, athletic events, and other approved outreach locations
  • Support phone calls, text outreach, and follow-up communication with new and prospective families
  • Support families throughout the student enrollment process
  • Partner with school teams and Office Managers to ensure a smooth transition once families begin the enrollment process
  • Support event planning and promotion of informational meetings for prospective families
  • Track recruitment activities and outreach efforts within designated target areas
  • Maintain accurate data entry related to family outreach, recruitment activity, and enrollment progress
  • Support regional outreach and enrollment objectives through consistent communication and follow-through
  • Provide feedback to inform continued refinement of recruitment plans
  • Support new and existing schools with enrollment efforts
