About The Position

Family Enhancement Program Temporary Full-Time Options Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering social services across the Southern Fraser region (Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley) from early childhood to seniors. Our comprehensive range of programs and services relies on collaborative relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and government bodies to create focused, effective and responsive resources for the community. POSITION OVERVIEW Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of families? As a Family Preservation Worker, you’ll provide hands-on, culturally responsive support that empowers families to build stability, strengthen relationships, and thrive together. Join a team dedicated to keeping families connected, helping them grow stronger, and creating lasting change. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Family Preservation Worker supports families through intake, case management, and goal setting while maintaining an active caseload. The role focuses on building positive relationships with parents, providing crisis intervention, and applying evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive approaches to enhance family stability, problem-solving, and parenting skills. Key responsibilities include facilitating supportive visitation, delivering life skills training and psychoeducation, coordinating with MCFD social workers and community partners, and participating in integrated case management meetings. The position also requires maintaining accurate documentation, preparing timely progress reports, and representing the organization with professionalism in the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as Psychology, Child & Youth Care, or Sociology) or equivalent education.
  • At least two years of recent experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • An insured vehicle.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Requires union membership.
  • Requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC).
  • Requires the incumbent to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in one or more of the following languages -- Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, or Punjabi, and Farsi-- is considered a strong asset to effectively serve families in the Family Enhancement Program.
