About The Position

The Family Preservation Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Family Preservation Program staff which provides intensive in-home services to families. The supervisor will be responsible for staffing and overall supervision of the program. This position will serve Ottawa, Allegan, and Barry counties out of our Holland office. Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task, organize and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of family therapy theories, treatment philosophies and strategies of home based services, including strength based, solution focused approaches
  • Knowledge of child welfare policies and programs
  • Knowledge in the area of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Family Preservation Program philosophy, model and intervention strategies
  • Must demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences present in the service population
  • Must have the ability to forge a mutually respectful partnership with families and individuals in which they are helped to gain skills and confidence to address issues and problems

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of three years of work experience in child welfare, family reunification, family preservation services or other in-home services with at risk families is preferred.
  • Work experience consisting of work with multi-problem children and families is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in or potential for providing supervision to workers providing in-home services is strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews, hires, trains, develops, and evaluates direct reports in adherence to program and Agency policy and procedures
  • Monitors staff caseload and ensures staff utilize techniques to reduce burn out and fatigue
  • Facilitates team meetings, individual supervision, and case reviews
  • Ensures data is prepared for internal or external reporting and program billing
  • Assists in the development of annual budget and monitors program adherence to the budget
  • Participates and completes as required in initial and ongoing Family Reunification Program and Family Preservation training for self and staff
  • Participates in internal Agency, Supervisory meetings and other meetings as required
  • Provides direct service to families and provides on-call coverage to the Family Preservation staff on a 24-hour basis
