Our next Family Preservation Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of Family Preservation Specialists and a Parent Partner. The supervisor will provide support and guide the team to consistently assess and respond to the needs of families served in the Child & Family Well-being division at Wellpoint Care Network. The supervisor will work closely with the Director of Education and Family Engagement to track outcomes and timely documentation to demonstrate that service provision meets program and regulatory expectations and is consistent with the overarching child welfare goals of ensuring safety, stability, permanence and well-being.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or its equivalent is required.
  • Three to Five years’ experience in child and family welfare.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve positive outcomes and work successfully with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the laws and regulations pertaining to child welfare.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; including strong public speaking and report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to define problem areas, assemble facts and recommend solutions.
  • Proficient in the usage of computer software; demonstrate an understanding of computer file systems and computer software packages, e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Teams, ADP, etc.
  • Must be honest, dependable and able to meet deadlines; Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Physical exam, drug screen, motor vehicle report, and background checks are required for this position.
  • A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License Required or reliable transportation to attend on-site meetings, events, and/or learning throughout the state.

  • Master’s in social work or its equivalent recommended.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises assigned department personnel which includes the following responsibilities, but are not limited to hiring, learning, scheduling, evaluating, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and the completion of all work performed by direct reports.
  • Educates direct reports on all department and company policies and procedures.
  • Meets with assigned staff regularly to identify and resolve problems, manage projects, track goals, and review work processes and procedures.
  • Represents team and/or department at meetings, events, and learning as needed.
  • Provides consistent and effective individual supervision.
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring effective supervision and development of all direct reports.
  • Ensures that services provided by staff consistently uphold the DMCW values of safety, permanency and well-being
  • Ensures that services provided by staff consistently uphold the Agency’s strategic initiatives.
  • Provides direct intervention and support for case-related events as needed.
  • Works with HR and Director of Education and Family Engagement to recruit, interview, and retain staff members.
  • Ensures all staff receive required training, elective training geared towards staff’s developmental needs, and timely, effective support .
  • Effectively responds to staff personnel issues through direct action, reporting concerns to Director, and participating in solution focused problem solving.
  • Supports and facilitates Family Preservation team members’ development of comprehensive, strength-based treatment plans based on a thorough case assessment.
  • Monitors ongoing treatment planning and implementation for each family.
  • Demonstrates accountability for clinical quality of treatment plan by timely review and approval of plans.
  • Demonstrates the ability to coach staff through crisis situations, conflict resolution and mediation.
  • Case decisions are timely and fiscally responsible.
  • Identifies gaps in case practice and takes initiative to establish a solution.
  • Investigates and resolves EHR billing task issues; review codes, modifiers, eligibility and utilize high level problem-solving skills to resolve.
  • Monitors Medication Management intakes, insurance coverage, appointments, orders, and requests from psychiatrist.
  • Maintains knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payer requirements, guidelines and policies, insurance plans and procedures requiring prior authorization and current accepted insurance plans.
  • Supports Agency initiatives in communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Represents the Agency in all internal and external functions
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the leadership team through engagement in identified meetings, projects, and other activities.
  • All employees will be evaluated on their demonstration of a consistent commitment to the Agency’s Seven Essential Ingredients and engagement in the strategic initiatives of the organization. This will be measured by their active participation in committees and workgroups, and by their communication and practice within their daily work and in the community.
  • Participates in assigned meetings, events and learning as required.
  • Other duties as assigned including serving in a coverage role for other department members.
  • Exhibits professionalism in all aspects of practice adhering to the Agency’s code of conduct and expectations, policies, and safety standards
  • Works in partnership with the Campus Service Manager and Guest Service Representatives.
  • Coordinating with the GSRs on client transportation needs.
  • Serves as an active, participating member of the Safety Committee representing the Mental Health group.
