About The Position

Kids Central is seeking a Family Preservation Specialist to join their team in Circuit 5. This role is crucial in providing clinical treatment and support to children and families, aiming to ensure their safety and well-being. The specialist will engage directly with families, offering various therapeutic services and working collaboratively with a case manager. Services are delivered in the home environment to address the unique needs of each family. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or other licensed counseling degree.
  • At least three years providing clinical services and/or in home services to children and families.
  • Current Background Clearance Screening Letter.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Excellent oral and written skills and ability to communicate comfortably with children, parents, and community agencies/personnel.
  • Organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible and able to multi-task.
  • Excellent working knowledge of automated systems (systems used for this position include but are not limited to Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN), Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Word).
  • Ability to work well as a team member and independently.
  • Experience in providing clinical services, coordinating systems of care, working within complex family systems and experience providing in-home services.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of clinical treatment for assigned children and families.
  • Engage with children and families firsthand, providing individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Work in a team approach with the Family Preservation Case Manager.
  • Render diagnostic and psychotherapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Participate as a member of the clinical team and the program.
  • Maintain client records.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and engagement.
  • Determine DSM V diagnosis in consultation with the supervisor and/or Clinical Director as needed.
  • Develop treatment plans and contracts for services.
  • Implement treatment plans, modifying as appropriate during treatment.
  • Participate in discharge planning, which may include linking to community services.
  • Provide case management services when indicated.
  • Complete clinical documentation required by Kids Central, program policies, HIPAA regulations, and funding sources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
