Requirements

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Active or eligible for an unrestricted physician license in the State of Washington.
Active DEA registration.
Current CPR certification.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to meet applicable medication-assisted treatment requirements within 120 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or another applicable primary care specialty.
Experience working in a community health center, FQHC, nonprofit healthcare organization, or other safety-net healthcare setting.
Experience utilizing an electronic health record system such as Athenahealth.
Experience caring for medically underserved and diverse patient populations.
Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent time-management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality medical care within the scope of the organization’s primary care program.
Review and analyze patient medical histories, diagnostic reports, laboratory results, examinations, and other clinical findings to determine diagnoses and appropriate treatment plans.
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
Promote preventive health by counseling patients regarding nutrition, healthy behaviors, disease prevention, and overall wellness.
Perform procedures within the scope of the primary care program and the physician’s demonstrated competencies and clinical privileges.
Refer patients to appropriate medical specialists and consultants when necessary.
Collaborate with other providers, clinical staff, and members of the care team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
Participate in community outreach efforts as requested.
Share in after-hours coverage and call responsibilities as appropriate.
Mentor and support Advanced Practice Clinicians as needed.
Family Medicine Physicians may provide supervision and review services provided by Physician Assistants in accordance with applicable Washington State requirements and organizational practice protocols.
Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the electronic health record system.
Monitor and, when applicable, provide clinical oversight to relevant providers and care staff to support the delivery of high-quality care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
