About The Position

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a full scope family physician to join their family practice network team at the Hydrostone Medical Centre in Halifax. This is a professionally managed clinic, well-supported by experienced staff, and will have three Family Physicians, a physician assistant, and a Psychiatrist on site when at full complement. The incoming physician will have two spacious rooms available. Nova Scotia Health is the largest provider of health services in Nova Scotia, offering a variety of high-quality inpatient and outpatient services across the province.

Requirements

Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Responsibilities

Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
Act as a patient’s advocate
Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
