Requirements

  • 3 years working with culturally diverse families.
  • Driver's License, Reliable transportation required
  • High Degree of proficiency required in Microsoft Products, Google Suite, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Services or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a confidential record keeping system which includes for each enrollee: family contact documentation, parent participation, referrals, outcomes and any other information requested by the family.
  • Coordinating the recruitment of individuals, families, partners and volunteers.
  • Assists parents in fully utilizing all available community resources through information, referrals, follow-ups and support systems (i.e. babysitting, public transportation); including updating resources and referrals and maintaining a directory.
  • Provides information and techniques to enhance parenting skills; facilitation of Active Parenting Classes.
  • Develops a sense of self-confidence within parents and provides leadership/volunteer opportunities in a non-threatening, non-judgmental setting.
  • Facilitates supportive parent discussion groups to encourage mutual support and sharing both problems and solutions regarding the parent/child relationship.
  • Serves as link between parent, school and community, while acting as family advocate when needed. Provides ongoing support and follow through with the family in relations to referral source. Utilizes family engagement in these relationships by developing positive rapport while highlighting community strengths and identifying challenges.
  • Creates and implements special projects/activities/presentations (a minimum of four per month).
  • Uses strengths of families to develop family goals to meet needs.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the Protective Factors and Essential Functions.
