About The Position

Riverside Community Care is seeking a Family Partner to join their innovative and growing children's mental health program. This role involves working in partnership with Intensive Care Coordinators to provide education, coaching, training, and support to parents/caregivers of youth receiving Wraparound services from the Community Service agency. The Family Partner will collaborate with the MiiWrap Coach and team to deliver strengths-based, supportive services to youth and their families within an enhanced Wraparound Model called MiiWrap.

Requirements

  • Must be able to establish a rapport and work effectively with a diverse, multi-cultural group of parents, children, family members and other program staff members.
  • Understanding of child development and family issues that impact upon child/parent relationships.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Must have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field and one year of experience working with the target population, Associate’s degree in human service field and one year experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth, or high school diploma/GED and a minimum of two years experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth required.
  • Experience or experienced being caregiver living with and caring for a child with significant needs, preferably a child or youth with mental health needs and/or neurodevelopmental needs.
  • Must have experience in navigating any of the child and family-serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with the child and family-serving systems.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with families, serving as a consistent point of contact and source of support throughout the treatment process.
  • Empower families to actively participate in the care planning and decision-making processes, ensuring their voices and preferences are valued and incorporated.
  • Work closely with other members of the CBHI team, including clinicians, care coordinators, and therapists.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among all involved parties to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide families with information and resources about available services, treatment options, and community supports.
  • Serve as an advocate for families, helping them navigate complex systems and overcome barriers to accessing appropriate care.
  • Utilize a strengths-based approach to teach parents and caregivers effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors and promoting positive family dynamics.
  • Collaborate with families to develop and enhance their coping skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all interactions, progress, and interventions according to program guidelines.
