About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with deep experience in family office environments, investment accounting, and trust accounting. This role will be responsible for overseeing complex accounting activities for high‑net‑worth individuals, trusts, and investment entities, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable working with sophisticated financial structures and confidential information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a family office or similar environment
  • Strong experience with investment accounting and trust accounting
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting for partnerships and investment entities
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
  • Experience with alternative investments (private equity, hedge funds, real estate)
  • Familiarity with accounting systems used in family offices (e.g., Addepar, Orion, Black Diamond, Yardi, or similar)
  • Experience working with tax professionals on complex filings
  • Prior experience supporting high‑net‑worth individuals or multi‑entity structures
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for family office entities, investment vehicles, and trusts
  • Maintain general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close processes
  • Track and reconcile multi‑asset investment portfolios including private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and marketable securities
  • Record capital calls, distributions, realized and unrealized gains/losses, and partnership allocations
  • Coordinate with custodians, investment advisors, and external managers
  • Perform trust accounting and prepare trust financial statements in accordance with governing documents
  • Track trust income, principal, beneficiary distributions, and allocations
  • Support fiduciary reporting and compliance requirements
  • Assist with estate‑related accounting activities as needed
  • Partner with internal and external tax advisors on preparation of individual, trust, partnership, and entity tax filings
  • Maintain detailed workpapers to support tax returns and audits
  • Assist with estimated tax payments and tax projections
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and internal controls
  • Identify and implement accounting process improvements and system enhancements
  • Maintain accounting policies and procedures
  • Prepare customized management reports and ad hoc financial analyses
  • Support audits, reviews, and special projects as needed
  • Support the preparation of the Board packages for the Gonzalez Family Council Trust and Gonzalez Family Office.
  • Support the election of Board Members – Gonzalez Family Council Trust, Grupo Gon-Rey Holdings, NG Real Estate Holdings, and Grupo Gon-Rey Family Office.
  • Prepare PowerPoint, Excel, and other presentations for various Family special projects.
