About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Tarboro, NC. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care in an urgent care setting, aiming to help patients feel better quickly. The clinic offers a range of services including urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This opportunity is suitable for new graduates, with comprehensive on-site orientation, training shifts with experienced providers, and ongoing support including a complimentary pediatric urgent care course and an on-call provider for clinical decision-making. The position allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps maintain and enhance clinical skills. The FNP will act as the medical provider in the clinic, leading their team of medical assistants and serving as a professional role model. The role also supports rural communities by providing accessible care and assisting with applications for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants. This position is described as a significant career advancement opportunity with a two-year commitment expected from the provider.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture.
  • Splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Handle general dermatology issues.
  • Address general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Provide general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
