Family Nurse Practitioner

Youth Villages•Douglasville, GA

About The Position

Youth Villages’ residential programs in Tennessee and Georgia provide care in safe, nurturing settings for youth ages 6 to 17 with complex behavioral and mental health challenges. The programs operate in secure facilities, open campuses, and group homes. Their intensive, trauma-informed treatment combines clinical interventions, life-skills development, and recreation therapy at selected locations, with the goal of helping youth move to the least restrictive treatment setting and succeed outside residential care. Most youth also attend accredited schools on campus. The Family Nurse Practitioner independently provides age-appropriate medical assessment and care for patients with acute, critical, and chronic health needs. The role includes prescribing or administering treatment and medication, providing general and preventive care, interpreting tests, performing authorized procedures, coordinating referrals and transitions in care, educating patients, families, and staff, and documenting patient contacts. The practitioner also participates in medical team activities, supports continuity of care, conducts physical exams and TB tests during new-hire orientation as needed, and maintains required training and certifications.
