About The Position

Mercyhealth, a community-based healthcare network serving southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, is seeking a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Mercyhealth Clinic in Mount Carroll, IL. Opportunity: 1.0 FTE (5-day work week) with flexible day-off scheduling to support work-life balance Rural outpatient-only practice with a loyal, established patient panel Minimal on-call responsibilities Patient-centered scheduling averaging at least two patients per clinical hour, allowing time for relationship-based care Supportive, mission-driven culture where clinicians have a strong voice Access to system-wide resources with the flexibility of a community-based practice Long-term stability and the opportunity to care for generations of families Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services to patients across the lifespan Conduct patient evaluations including detailed health histories and physical examinations Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and lab results Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and best practices Promote preventive care and wellness, including screenings and immunizations Educate patients and families on disease management and healthy lifestyle choices Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR Collaborate with care teams and refer patients to specialists as needed Qualifications: Strong clinical skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered, evidence-based care Interest in practicing in a rural healthcare setting Licensure/Certifications: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Current Illinois APRN license (or eligibility) DEA license (or ability to obtain) NP experience strongly preferred Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available CME allowance with dedicated CME days Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, retirement, and disability insurance Mercyhealth: Mercyhealth is a vertically integrated health care system in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois with approximately 800 physicians, 8,000 employees, 7 hospitals, and 80 ambulatory locations, along with pharmacies, DME, Home Health, and an insurance company. Requirements
