About The Position

KidsStreet Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Wilmington, NC. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care to help patients feel better quickly. The clinic offers a range of services including urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This opportunity is suitable for new graduates, with comprehensive on-site orientation, training shifts, a complimentary pediatric urgent care course, and ongoing support from an on-call provider for clinical decision-making. FNPs will utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps keep skills sharp and enhances marketability. The role emphasizes leadership, with FNPs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and a team of medical assistants whom they can mentor. The clinic plays a vital role in supporting families in the community by providing accessible care for children of all ages and accepting Medicaid, serving as a safety net for parents. KidsStreet is open 362 days a year to provide care outside of typical ER services. This position offers extensive pediatric care experience while maintaining other clinical skills, positioning it as a significant launchpad for career growth.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required
  • MSN, or higher education required
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (we cover the cost of the certification)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.).
  • Suture.
  • Splint.
  • Perform General Orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review of x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist, too).
  • Provide General Dermatology care.
  • Treat General eye problems.
  • Perform General EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize Emergency management skills.
  • Provide General GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide Occupational medicine services.
  • Provide Telemedicine services.
