About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Cary, NC. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care to help patients feel better quickly, offering services such as urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This opportunity is suitable for new graduates, with comprehensive on-site orientation, training shifts, and ongoing support including a provider on-call and a complimentary UpToDate subscription. FNPs will utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps maintain sharp skills and marketability. The role emphasizes leadership, with providers being the medical decision-makers in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and a team of medical assistants. The position also supports rural communities by providing access to care in underserved areas, with clinics open 362 days a year. Many clinics qualify for state-funded tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, and the company assists with the application process. Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • DOT certification or willingness to become DOT certified (cost covered by the company).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture wounds.
  • Splint fractures.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by a Radiologist).
  • Address general dermatology issues.
  • Treat general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Provide general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
