About The Position

The Monacan Indian Health Clinic, funded by the Indian Health Service, provides comprehensive and culturally aware and culturally sensitive health care to our Native American communities. With several exam rooms, this facility is aimed at providing support for behavioral health, dental, and general exams. To facilitate ease for patients to pick up their prescription, they have also implemented a drive-thru pharmacy. Recently completed in 2024, this facility is the embodiment of the Monacan people, built to reflect survival and resilience.

Requirements

• Any clean, unrestricted APRN license from any state is honored.
• Certification through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
• Must have a BLS certificate (preferably through the American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical duties, responsibilities and functions of a provider, including history taking, physical examination, the ordering of appropriate laboratory and x-ray procedures, the interpretations and synthesis of clinical data, formulation of therapeutic programs, assessing patients, diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, conveying of information to patients and their families, support of patients and families in times of illness, and the timely maintenance of adequate records detailing these activities.
• Will provide high-quality and efficient care to patients.
• Determines when the services of a specialist are needed to treat unusual cases.
• Makes necessary arrangements for the admission of patients to the appropriate hospital.
• Renders care as needed, and as scheduled for the same-day clinic.
• Observes and abides by all the policies of Monacan Health Center, including rules and regulations of the medical staff.
