About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Millbrook, Alabama. The FNP will provide patient-focused care, aiming to help patients feel better quickly. The clinic offers urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This opportunity is suitable for new graduates, with comprehensive orientation, training, and ongoing support from experienced providers and an on-call NP. The role allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics, which helps maintain and enhance clinical skills. The FNP will act as the leader of their clinic team, supported by medical assistants, and will have access to treatment protocols to guide decision-making. The position also involves supporting rural communities that have limited access to care, with clinics open 362 days a year. MainStreet clinics in these areas may qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, and the company assists with the application process. This role is presented as a significant career advancement opportunity, with a commitment expected for two years.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required
  • MSN, or higher education required
  • Are you DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (we cover the cost of the certification)?
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnosing and treating cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues
  • Minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.)
  • Suturing
  • Splinting
  • General Orthopedic evaluations/management
  • Review of x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist, too)
  • General Dermatology
  • General eye problems
  • General EKG interpretations
  • Emergency management skills
  • General GYN expertise
  • Treating children of all ages
  • Occupational medicine
  • Telemedicine
