About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Dothan, Alabama. The FNP will provide patient-focused care in an urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine setting. The role involves leading a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This opportunity is open to new graduates and offers extensive support, including orientation, training shifts, a complimentary pediatric urgent care CE course, and an NP on-call for clinical decision-making. The position allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from babies to geriatrics, which helps keep skills sharp and enhances marketability. The FNP will act as the primary medical provider in the clinic, leading their team of medical assistants and serving as a professional role model. The role also supports rural communities by providing accessible care 362 days a year and assists eligible employees in applying for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants. This position is a two-year commitment with the potential for significant career growth.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture and splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Address general dermatology issues.
  • Manage general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Provide general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
