About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Shelby, NC. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-volume urgent care environment. The FNP will serve as a leader for a small team, treating patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics, across a range of services including urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The company emphasizes utilizing the full scope of practice for providers and offers significant support, including a complimentary UpToDate subscription and an on-call provider for clinical guidance. This position is open to new graduates and offers opportunities for professional growth and development, with a commitment to supporting providers in rural communities that have limited access to care. Many clinics qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, which the company assists with in the application process.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture and splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by a Radiologist).
  • Handle general dermatology and general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Provide general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
  • Lead a small team of medical assistants and serve as a professional role model.
