About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Athens, GA. The FNP will provide patient-focused care, including urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The role involves leading a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care environment. This opportunity is open to new graduates, with comprehensive on-site training, mentorship from experienced providers, and ongoing support including a complimentary pediatric urgent care course and on-call clinical support. The position allows for the full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from babies to geriatric patients, which helps maintain and enhance clinical skills. FNPs will act as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and a team of medical assistants. The role also involves supporting rural communities with limited access to care, and the company assists with applications for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants. Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required
  • MSN, or higher education required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred
  • Are you DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (we cover the cost of the certification)?

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and treating cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues
  • Performing minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.)
  • Suturing
  • Splinting
  • General Orthopedic evaluations/management
  • Review of x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist, too)
  • General Dermatology
  • General eye problems
  • General EKG interpretations
