About The Position

KidsStreet Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Valdosta, GA. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care to help patients feel better quickly. The clinic offers a range of services including urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This opportunity is suitable for new graduates, with comprehensive training and ongoing support provided, including a pediatric urgent care CE course and an NP on-call for clinical decision-making. FNPs will utilize their full scope of practice to treat patients of all ages, from infants to geriatric patients, ensuring skills remain sharp and marketability increases. The role emphasizes leadership, with FNPs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and a team of medical assistants. A significant aspect of the role involves supporting families in the community by providing accessible care, including accepting Medicaid. The position is described as a career launchpad, with a commitment of two years expected from the provider.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers cost).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture.
  • Splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Handle general dermatology issues.
  • Address general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Apply general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
