Family Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Inpatient
About The Position
Helio Health is seeking an experienced and insightful Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their team on a Per Diem basis. The FNP will be responsible for the general healthcare, well-being, and addiction treatment of patients at Helio Health's 65-bed OASAS licensed Inpatient Rehabilitation/Detox facility in Syracuse, NY. This role involves providing medical examinations and evaluations, ordering diagnostic tests, assessing the level of care, making appropriate medical referrals, and educating staff on patient medical issues. The position is on-site, covering evenings and weekends, with some on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- Must be a Nurse Practitioner (FNP) licensed and currently registered by the New York State Education Department.
- At least one year of experience in the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders.
- Must be able and willing to prescribe all available Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) options.
- Have prescriptive authority and DEA number.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including medical examination and monitoring, and implementation of medical orders.
- Serve on special review and quality assurance committees as assigned.
- Provide and document medical consultation, assessment, examination, treatment planning, and review consistent with agency policy and requirements.
- Undertake other related assignments and duties consistent with training and experience.
