About The Position
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing preventive and primary care as a part of a health care team in an ambulatory setting in a particular discipline. The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with a physician and provides care under established guidelines agreed upon by the nurse practitioner and the physician.
Requirements
- Registered nurse and successful completion of a certified post-graduate program for nurse practitioners.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
- BSN or advanced degree, certification and/or license in specialty.
- Maintains current DEA license.
- Current in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS).
- English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Occasionally; valid Texas driver’s license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation.
Nice To Haves
- Prefer experience but will consider new graduate.
Responsibilities
- Providing primary care to patients
- Performing initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations
- Setting up and monitoring medical equipment
- Ordering and administering diagnostic tests
- Communicating test results to patients and their families
- Recording patient medical histories
- Operating and maintaining medical equipment
