About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Kinston, NC. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care to help patients feel better quickly. The clinic offers urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This opportunity is suitable for new graduates, with comprehensive training and ongoing support provided, including a complimentary pediatric urgent care course and access to an on-call provider for clinical decision-making. FNPs will utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps maintain and enhance clinical skills. The role emphasizes leadership, with FNPs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and a team of medical assistants. There is also an opportunity to mentor and inspire medical assistants. The clinics serve rural communities with limited access to care, operating 362 days a year. Many clinics qualify for state-funded tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, and the company assists with the application process. This position is presented as a two-year commitment with significant returns for career growth.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Are you DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (we cover the cost of the certification)?
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnosing and treating cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Performing minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.).
  • Suturing.
  • Splinting.
  • General Orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review of x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist, too).
  • General Dermatology.
  • General eye problems.
  • General EKG interpretations.
  • Emergency management skills.
  • General GYN expertise.
  • Treating children of all ages.
  • Occupational medicine.
  • Telemedicine.
