About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Brewton, AL. The FNP will provide patient-focused care, aiming to help patients feel better quickly. The clinic offers urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This role is open to new graduates, with comprehensive onboarding, training shifts, and ongoing support including a complimentary pediatric urgent care CE course and an NP on-call for clinical decision-making. The position allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps keep skills sharp and enhances marketability. The FNP will act as the leader of their clinic team, with treatment protocols available to guide decision-making. The role also involves supporting rural communities by providing access to care, as clinics are open 362 days a year. Many clinics qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, and the company assists with the application process. This role is described as a "rocket ship" for career growth, with a two-year commitment expected from the provider.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (cost covered by the company).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture and splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by a Radiologist).
  • Handle general dermatology and general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Demonstrate general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
