About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their team in Locust, NC. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care to help patients feel better quickly. The services offered include urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This opportunity is suitable for new graduates, with comprehensive on-site orientation, training shifts, and ongoing support including a pediatric urgent care course and an on-call provider for clinical decision-making. The position allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps keep skills sharp and enhances marketability. The role also emphasizes leadership, with providers being the medical authority in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and medical assistants. A rewarding aspect of the role is mentoring medical assistants. MainStreet clinics serve rural communities with limited access to care, operating 362 days a year. Many clinics qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, which the company assists with in the application process. Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures (e.g., toenail removal, foreign object removal).
  • Suture and splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Handle general dermatology and general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Apply general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
