About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is growing and seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their team in Clayton, NC. The FNP will provide patient-focused care, aiming to help patients feel better quickly. The clinic offers urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This role is open to new graduates, with comprehensive training provided, including an HQ orientation, training shifts with experienced providers, a complimentary pediatric urgent care course, and on-call support for clinical decision-making. The position allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages (babies, children, adults, and geriatrics), which helps keep skills sharp and enhances marketability. The role emphasizes leadership, with FNPs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and medical assistants. A rewarding aspect of the role is mentoring medical assistants. The clinic also supports rural communities by providing access to care 362 days a year and assists with applications for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants. This position is described as a significant career launchpad, with a two-year commitment expected from the provider.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnosing and treating cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Performing minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.).
  • Suturing.
  • Splinting.
  • General Orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review of x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist, too).
  • General Dermatology.
  • General eye problems.
  • General EKG interpretations.
  • Emergency management skills.
  • General GYN expertise.
  • Treating children of all ages.
  • Occupational medicine.
  • Telemedicine.
