Urgent Care Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
About The Position
Stopwatch Urgent Care is hiring a full-time, experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at our Springville clinic. Springville is located in St. Clair County along I-59, about 25 minutes northeast of Birmingham, offering small-town living with easy access to a larger metro area. You will be the provider on shift, managing acute and episodic care independently in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You are supported by established clinical protocols, a dedicated clinic support team, and direct access to clinical leadership and network resources. Onboarding includes a structured clinical orientation designed to set you up for success from day one.
Requirements
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) in Alabama, or eligible for licensure
- National certification: AANP or ANCC for NPs, NCCPA for PAs
- Minimum 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience; new graduates are not eligible for this role
- Comfortable practicing as the sole provider on shift
- DOT Medical Examiner certification, or willingness to complete within 6 weeks of start
- Current BLS certification

- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to care
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and episodic conditions.
- Perform common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, abscess drainage, splinting, wound care, and DOT physicals.
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic testing, including in-house labs and imaging.
- Prescribe medications appropriately and provide patient education on treatment plans, follow-up care, and preventive health.
- Document encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record, with same-day chart completion.
- Collaborate with clinic staff to maintain efficient patient flow, quality outcomes, and a strong patient experience.
