About The Position

Shape the Future of Family Medicine Education with Hartford HealthCare & Quinnipiac University. Are you a passionate physician leader who is energized by teaching, mentoring, and developing the next generation of family physicians? Hartford HealthCare and Quinnipiac University's Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine invite an accomplished Family Medicine physician to lead our Family Medicine Residency Program as Program Director. This is a unique opportunity to combine academic leadership, clinical excellence, and innovation within one of New England's most respected healthcare systems while making a lasting impact on resident education and community health. As Program Director, you will provide strategic vision and leadership for an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program while maintaining an active clinical practice. You will help shape curriculum, mentor residents and faculty, advance scholarly activity, and foster a culture of educational excellence and resident well-being. Residents benefit from a rich and diverse training experience across multiple Hartford HealthCare and community-based sites. Clinical rotations take place at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, complemented by longitudinal outpatient training in residency continuity clinics located in Bridgeport, Winsted, and surrounding communities. This broad clinical footprint exposes residents to a diverse patient population and equips them to practice confidently in both urban and rural settings. The residency program proudly partners with the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, a nationally respected institution recognized for its innovative approach to medical education. The Netter School of Medicine emphasizes patient-centered care, interprofessional collaboration, population health, and community engagement while preparing physicians to meet the evolving healthcare needs of diverse patient populations. As Program Director, you will work closely with medical school leadership, residency faculty, and healthcare system executives to advance both undergraduate and graduate medical education. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence curriculum design, foster scholarly activity, support faculty development, and help shape the future of family medicine education across Connecticut. Hartford HealthCare is one of Connecticut's largest integrated healthcare systems, recognized nationally for innovation, leadership development, and clinical excellence. Our Family Medicine Residency Program is committed to improving health outcomes through outstanding patient care, education, community outreach, and scholarly inquiry. We strive to develop compassionate, highly skilled physicians prepared to care for patients across the continuum of life while addressing healthcare disparities and serving diverse communities. This leadership opportunity is based in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a vibrant coastal city offering easy access to New York City, New Haven, and the scenic Connecticut shoreline.
