About The Position

TexanCare Family Medicine is expanding and seeking a dedicated, compassionate Family Medicine Physician to launch and lead our new clinic location in Kyle, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, collaborative team in a vibrant, family-oriented community. We are looking for a candidate who values a small-town atmosphere with the support of an established independent practice, while contributing to the broader primary care expansion in the region. The care setting is 100% outpatient. The schedule is a 4.5-day patient encounter work week, with Friday afternoons reserved for admin work from home. The average patient volume is 20-22 patients per day, with approximately 6-10 new patient inquiries daily. The team structure is collaborative, including 3 physicians, 1 Nurse Practitioner, and 1 Licensed Professional Counselor. Physicians utilize Athena EMR and an AI-supported note-taking tool (Open Evidence) to streamline documentation. The call rotation is 1 in 5, supported by a 24/7 nurse advice line for triage, making after-hours patient callbacks extremely rare. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive outpatient care, including minor procedures (joint injections, women’s health/pap smears, suturing, and small wound care). The physician must eventually assist in supervising Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). Consulting privileges at Ascension Seton Hays must be obtained. Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.
• Must obtain consulting privileges at Ascension Seton Hays.
• Independent recruitment contract requiring a 36-month Ascension service area agreement.

• Spanish fluency is considered a significant plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient care, including minor procedures (joint injections, women’s health/pap smears, suturing, and small wound care).

Benefits

• $240,000 guaranteed base salary for the first year.
• Up to $20,000 production bonus (based on quality metrics, punctuality, note closure, and community outreach).
• Option to conduct hospice work (4 hours/week from home) for additional income potential ($1,000–$2,000 per month).
• Eligibility for state-based student loan repayment (up to $180,000) - clinic must build its Medicaid panel to qualify.
• 3 weeks PTO plus 5 CME days.
• $3,000 annual CME allowance (can be applied toward insurance premiums).
• Coverage for Texas licensure and DEA fees.
