About The Position

Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking BE/BC Family Medicine Physicians to join an established team of Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. MVHS is committed to supporting its physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to deliver premier healthcare to the region, with a patient-centered approach. The system has 17 primary care offices across the Mohawk Valley, offering options for both rural and urban living. This is a full-time, employed position within one of their offices, featuring a traditional outpatient practice with 35 patient contact hours and 5 hours of administrative time per week. The physician will work with an established team and receive great support.

Requirements

Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.)
Successful completion of a residency and internship.
Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (may include residency in a directly related medical specialty).
Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Current NYS Certification/Licensure
Federal DEA Certification
Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty, Medical Specialty License or Certification if applicable

Responsibilities

Deliver premier healthcare to patients in the Mohawk Valley region.
Engage in a traditional outpatient practice.
Complete 35 patient contact hours per week.
Allocate 5 hours per week for administrative tasks.
Work collaboratively with an established team of physicians and advanced practice providers.
Supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students.
Develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
Observe, assess, and record patient symptoms, reactions, and progress.
Prescribe dosages and instruct patients in the correct usage of drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids.
