About The Position

Bassett Healthcare Network in central New York is seeking a full-time MD/DO for its Susquehanna Family Practice/Gender Wellness Center. This center has been offering high-quality, evidence-based primary care since 1994 and began embedding transgender and gender diverse (TGD) healthcare into its practice in 2007. The center has developed into a rural-based hub for TGD healthcare, providing comprehensive medical, mental health, and surgical care, along with legal advocacy, training, education, and community-based research. They have served over 1800 TGD youth and adults within their family practice.

Requirements

NYS certification/Licensure as MD/DO
BLS Certification Required
Strong clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Leadership skills, commitment to LGBTQ+ healthcare, and interdisciplinary teamwork
Employs principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in clinical practice

Responsibilities

Provide primary care for cisgender and TGD youth/adults across the lifespan within a rural-based family practice/gender center.
Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region.
Provide evidence-based, quality primary care to cisgender and TGD youth and adults, including the provision of gender affirming hormone therapy and pubertal suppression.
Utilize half a day per week of non-clinical time for self-study.
Participate in GWC interdisciplinary rounds and team meetings.
Take part in team activities and grant implementation.
Engage in efforts to ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in healthcare.
Practice cultural responsiveness and cultural humility.
