About The Position

The University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine, Huntsville Regional Medical Campus, is seeking a motivated Family Medicine faculty member to join its established residency program. This is a full-time, open-rank, non-tenure-track position. The faculty member will contribute to the school’s mission through education, service, and scholarly activity. The Huntsville campus has a 12-12-12 Family Medicine Residency Program. Its Family Medicine Center cares for a broad spectrum of patients and illnesses while teaching medical students and residents. The campus is certified as a Level II patient-centered medical home and has a successful faculty practice plan with the opportunity for productivity bonuses. Candidates with a passion for educating residents and medical students are sought. Those interested in leadership development and a potential future pathway toward a Program Director role are especially encouraged to apply. The position offers an opportunity to join a collaborative team and contribute to the growth and success of the Family Medicine training program.

Requirements

MD or DO degree.
Board certification in Family Medicine.
Must qualify for licensure in Alabama.
Must qualify for medical staff privileges at Huntsville Hospital.
Must qualify for credentialing with CMS as a physician provider.
Proven clinical expertise.
Strong recommendations.
A love for teaching.

Nice To Haves

Two to three years of academic experience.
