About The Position

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of FMLA and Leave Administration Analyst. This role provides professional administrative services in FMLA and Leave program management, offering guidance on employee absences, strategies for monitoring absence, and reducing absenteeism. The FMLA Leave Analyst ensures timely management and resolution of long-term and short-term absences, managing Federal Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) Act and Maryland's Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) programs. The position ensures compliance with Federal and State laws, MTA policies, and Collective Bargaining Agreements, and also provides training in relevant subject areas.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Three (3) years of experience in administrative or professional work.
• One (1) year of FMLA or case management experience which may include any leaves of absence.
• Possession of a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the state of Maryland (if assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional administrative services in the areas of FMLA and Leave program management.
• Provide guidance and direction regarding employees' long-term and short-term absences.
• Develop strategies for monitoring absence and reducing absenteeism.
• Ensure timely management and resolutions of long-term and short-term absences.
• Manage Federal Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) Act and Maryland's Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) programs for long term illnesses and other leave administration processes.
• Ensure actions comply with Federal and State laws, MTA policies, and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
• Provide training in subject matter areas.
