About The Position

Community Legal Aid (CLA) seeks a paralegal to support its Family Law unit, which primarily serves domestic violence survivors. This role involves assisting attorneys with client interviews, drafting court documents, communicating with clients, and preparing clients for hearings. The paralegal may also contribute to translation/interpretation needs and grant reporting. The position is based in Worcester, with occasional travel to Springfield.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support the unit's attorneys with interviewing clients.
  • Draft court pleadings and other case-related documents for review by the unit's attorneys.
  • Relay counsel and advice and case information to clients.
  • Work with the unit's attorneys to prepare clients for court hearings.
  • Assist with CLA's translation and interpretation needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic grant reports.
