Remote | Family Law Attorney (AAML Registered) — $140–$400/hour
About The Position
We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Family Law Attorneys with strong expertise in family law, legal research, legal writing, case analysis, document review, and complex legal reasoning to contribute to an advanced legal AI training and evaluation project. Selected professionals will analyse complex family-law matters, review and annotate legal documents, conduct detailed legal research, and help improve the accuracy and quality of AI-generated legal reasoning. The role is particularly suited to attorneys with substantial family-law experience and current AAML registration. No prior experience in AI is required.
Requirements
- Current AAML registration or membership relevant to the role
- Demonstrated expertise practising family law
- Strong background in legal research, legal writing, and family-law case analysis
- Experience reviewing, summarising, and critiquing complex legal documents
- Strong critical-thinking skills and sound legal judgement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain nuanced legal concepts clearly
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable collaborating remotely using digital project-management tools
- Able to adapt quickly to new technologies and evolving workflows
- Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, law firm, institution, or other third party
Nice To Haves
- Experience at a leading BigLaw firm is highly valued
- Experience contributing to innovative, technology-driven, or AI-related legal projects is advantageous but not required
Responsibilities
- Analyse complex family-law cases, statutes, precedents, and factual scenarios
- Identify key legal issues, arguments, and applicable legal standards
- Apply strong professional judgement to nuanced family-law matters
- Distinguish well-supported legal reasoning from incomplete or inaccurate analysis
- Produce clear legal insights suitable for expert-level evaluation
- Conduct thorough legal research across relevant family-law topics
- Review statutes, case law, and other legal authorities
- Prepare concise written summaries, case notes, and analytical materials
- Identify material legal developments and relevant precedent
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear, structured explanations
- Draft, review, and annotate family-law documents
- Work with materials such as custody agreements, divorce decrees, prenuptial agreements, and related legal documents
- Evaluate documents for legal accuracy, completeness, and clarity
- Identify inconsistencies, drafting weaknesses, and areas requiring clarification
- Apply meticulous attention to detail across complex case materials
- Review and evaluate AI-generated legal content for accuracy and reasoning quality
- Provide structured feedback on legal errors, weak analysis, or incomplete conclusions
- Help establish high-quality reference material for family-law scenarios
- Contribute expert judgement that improves model understanding of legal issues
- Support evaluation frameworks grounded in professional legal standards
- Collaborate effectively with distributed project teams
- Use digital project-management and remote collaboration tools
- Manage multiple deliverables while maintaining accuracy and consistency
- Adapt quickly to changing project requirements and workflows
- Communicate clearly with legal, research, and technical contributors
