About The Position

Community Services for Children is seeking a detail-oriented and relationship-centered Family Engagement Support Specialist to join our team and make a difference in the lives of children and their families. The Family Engagement Support Specialist provides high-level administrative, operational, and communications support to the Family and Community Engagement (FCE) team within Head Start and Early Head Start programs. This position supports family engagement activities, data management, communications, parent leadership efforts, and community resource coordination while helping ensure high-quality, family-centered services for children and families. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, collaborative, and committed to excellent customer service and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; Associate’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to translate written and spoken communication.
  • Clerical training or equivalent administrative experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently, maintain confidentiality, and work with individuals from varied backgrounds.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 20lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Family Engagement Managers and Partners, including scheduling, requisitions, and material preparation for family visits, events, and workshops.
  • Coordinate logistics and materials for meetings and special events
  • Assist Preschool Directors and Assistant Directors on special projects and service area logistics.
  • Enter, track, and monitor data in ChildPlus and assist with formatting reports, minutes, and presentations.
  • Develop high-quality content and maintain a scheduled posting plan for ClassDojo to communicate parent education, event information, Policy Council updates, and other family-facing content.
  • Collaborate on key parent engagement activities, create communications and certificates, and coordinate the distribution of year-end supplies to classrooms.
  • Translate written documents (English–Spanish) and provide interpretation for communications and events.
  • Lead the annual update of the Community Resource Book and collaborate with Family Engagement and Community Services staff to maintain current community resource information and referrals.
  • Provide front desk coverage and support to the admin/facilities team as needed.
