About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Family Engagement Specialist to join their team in Sayre, PA, and surrounding areas. This position offers an hourly rate of $19 and is responsible for full-cycle recruiting, ongoing case management, and services to ensure long-term involvement with foster parents. The role involves recruiting foster parents through events and community outreach, interviewing and approving candidates, and guiding them through the screening and credentialing processes to ensure a positive candidate experience. Additionally, the specialist collaborates during intake to find appropriate placements, conducts monthly supervision with foster parents, ensures they meet documentation and deadline expectations, and provides input on concerns and continuation of care. Training is conducted as needed, and support is given for interactions with children. Administrative duties include approving and managing foster parent documentation for timely payment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining documentation according to Merakey policy. The role requires strong customer service, communication, marketing awareness, computer proficiency, teamwork, experience with diverse populations, crisis response, and the ability to build trust and conduct interviews in non-traditional settings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of experience with social services/healthcare admissions
• Possesses good customer service skills
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• awareness of marketing principles

• Experience engaging with a diverse population
• ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations
• Experience working with clients, developing trust and conducting interviews in non-traditional settings

Responsibilities

• Oversee, coordinate and conduct recruiting events; identify and build relationships with community groups, etc. that could provide a viable candidate pool
• Adhere to, and drive Merakey recruitment best practices including administering interview feedback/collection
• Interviews and approves foster parents
• Partners with candidates through the background screening and credentialing processes to expedite the process
• Ensures a best in class candidate experience and employment brand on behalf of Merakey.
• Collaborates during intake to identify the most appropriate environment for placement.
• Conducts monthly supervision with foster parents.
• Ensures foster parents are meeting expectations of necessary documentation and deadlines
• Primary input, based on observation, documentation and experience in identifying concerns, continuation of care, etc.
• Conducts training as needed
• Supports interactions with children (e.g. was identified training implemented/helpful)
• Approves and manages documentation from foster parents, ensuring on time payment.
• Meets all necessary compliance issues including but not limited to clearances, fire drills, walk throughs to ensure safety of the home, quality care
• Creates, edits and keeps documentation per Merakey policy and practice in a timely manner.
