About The Position

Easterseals Vermont is seeking a mission-driven Family Engagement Specialist to join their team. This role focuses on facilitating family meetings and providing in-home support to strengthen families. The specialist will coach parents on safe and nurturing interactions with their children in DCF custody, assist in meeting children's needs, and engage extended family for support through genograms. The position requires understanding complex family issues such as trauma, substance use, domestic violence, mental health, and generational poverty. Extensive training and supervision are provided. While working with the Department of Children and Families, the team operates from separate offices.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• Your own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets coverage limits

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field
• Two years of human services experience

Responsibilities

• Facilitating family meetings
• Providing in-home support to strengthen families

• Calling extended family members to explore familial support
• Creating genograms
