Family Engagement Assistant
About The Position
Easterseals Vermont is seeking a Family Engagement Assistant to join their team. This role involves meaningful, mission-driven work with families, focusing on supporting separated families and developing support networks for youth in DCF custody. The agency emphasizes a good work-life balance and a family-friendly environment. Responsibilities include transporting children and parents to services, providing supported contact between children and parents in various settings, and contacting family members to build support systems for youth entering DCF custody. While working closely with the Department of Children and Families, the team operates from separate, comfortable offices.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Valid driver's license.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting.
- Your own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets coverage limits.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s Degree.
- Experience in Human Services.
Responsibilities
- Transporting children and parents to needed services.
- Providing supported contact for children and parents within office and community settings to allow separated families to have safe and productive time with each other.
- Calling family members when youth come into DCF custody, to assist in the development of a support network for those youth and their families.
