In this role, you'll represent clients in family law matters, appear in court, manage cases, conduct discovery, negotiate settlements, and guide clients through some of life's most challenging moments. Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in West Virginia
- Excellent courtroom presence and legal writing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and client relationship abilities
- Confidence under pressure and compassion for people in crisis
- Willingness to work independently and as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- Prior family law experience is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law hearings, settlement conferences, mediations, and trials
- Draft motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and final orders
- Guide clients through complex legal and emotional situations
- Collaborate with other members of the legal team on case strategy
- Oversee case files, track progress, and manage deadlines
- Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, and court staff
- Daytime travel is required across West Virginia for various hearings
- Track and enter time daily
