Family Counselor - FPS
About The Position
Acenda Integrated Health is recruiting for a Family Counselor to support the Family Preservation Services Program in Mercer County, New Jersey. As a non-profit organization, Acenda is committed to its mission of moving lives forward, providing over 100 life-enhancing programs and services throughout New Jersey. The organization offers a wide range of mental health, crisis services, parenting support, family-focused therapy, and residential programming. Acenda is seeking caring, passionate, and motivated individuals to join their team as a Family Counselor, contributing to the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in counseling or a related field.
- 1.5 years professional experience.
- A valid driver's license and insured vehicle.
- Strong engaging, communication and collaboration skills.
- Must demonstrate initiative, reliability and the ability to work well independently.
- Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans and utilize time effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Provide short-term, intensive, in-home counseling to 2 families at a time, each receiving a minimum of 5 hours of weekly face-to-face contact.
- Teach, coach and model parenting skills and effective parent-child interactions.
- Advocate and link families to concrete services and supports.
- Work collaboratively with DCP&P and community service providers.
