Family & Consumer Science Teacher (Culinary Background Needed!)
About The Position
Celebrate the Children School is seeking a Family and Consumer Science Teacher for their Culinary Arts Program for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves working with special needs students aged 3-21 and requires proficiency in a commercial/professional teaching kitchen, including an understanding of kitchen safety and code. Celebrate the Children is a non-profit, state-approved private school with over twenty years of experience serving children with alternative learning styles. The school emphasizes a caring, compassionate, and dedicated staff and requires DOE Certifications.
Requirements
- CEAS/Standard in Family and Consumer Sciences.
- Certified in Family and Consumer Sciences (CFCS) or Certified in Hospitality, Nutrition and Food Science (CFCS-HNFS) through American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences.
- Proficiency in working with special needs students ages 3-21.
- Experience working in and utilizing a commercial/professional teaching kitchen.
- Understanding of kitchen safety and code.
- DOE Certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of two years of experience working with the special needs population.
- DIR experience.
- Private school experience.
