About The Position

The Early Care and Education Projects (ECEP) Family Child Care Coach will support ECEP in fulfilling its mission to educate, connect, and equip early childhood professionals by advancing the work of the Family Child Care Network (FCCN). This position provides relationship-based support, including training, technical assistance, and coaching, to family child care providers in an assigned region of Arkansas, while contributing to statewide network efforts as needed. Regular and reliable attendance is expected, as is the ability to build and maintain collegial working relationships. This is a one-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, funding availability, and satisfactory performance. Applicants must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, one of the counties served by this position. This role is region-based and requires the employee to live within the assigned service area to provide timely, in-person support to providers and communities. Assigned Service Area: This position will serve the following counties in the State of Arkansas: Crawford, Sebastian, Scott, Yell, Pope, Van Buren, Logan, Johnson, and Franklin.

Requirements

  • CDA credential or bachelor's degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • At least three years of experience providing direct services to children and families within the child care community.
  • At least three years of experience in early childhood programs.
  • Knowledge of state licensing regulations and quality improvement systems.
  • Experience with technology and Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Ability to collect data and information to meet reporting requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time and responsibilities effectively.
  • Must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, one of the counties served by this position.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • At least three years of experience with family child care homes and applicable licensing regulations.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective coaching practices, and experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting early childhood educators.
  • Familiarity with ECEP and its mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provides relationship-based support, including training, technical assistance, and coaching, to family child care providers in an assigned region of Arkansas.
  • Contributes to statewide network efforts as needed.
  • Builds and maintains collegial working relationships.
  • Travels and works occasional evenings and weekends.
