About The Position

The Family Centered Treatment-Recovery Practitioner serves as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) service extender, responsible for assessing the needs of clients and their families, facilitating treatment, and identifying potential barriers to recovery. All services are client-care plan controlled and provided under the direct supervision of the Director and a qualified mental health professional. The role requires knowledge of Electronic Health Record systems, managing multiple projects, analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service, time management, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of state rules and regulations is also necessary.

  • Certified or licensed in the state of Arkansas as Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, Licensed Associate Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist or registered with the Arkansas Substance Abuse Certification Board (ASACB) as a Counselor in Training.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Must conform to the requirements for MHP supervision so as to work in an agency under MHP supervision.
  • Complete training and make consistent progress toward achieving certification from the Family Centered Treatment Foundation (FCTF).
  • Once certified, the FCT Practitioner will complete all activities necessary to maintain certification from FCTF.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a caseload of an average of five clients, providing therapeutic services with an average of six hours per week spent with each client family.
  • Develop short- and long-term family goals with measurable outcomes.
  • Attend and participate in Child & Family Team Meetings as requested by the Department of Child Services and Probation.
  • Provide thorough documentation including treatment plans, progress notes, monthly reports, and assessments.
  • Complete training and make consistent progress toward achieving certification from the Family Centered Treatment Foundation (FCTF), which includes videotaped demonstration of competencies.
  • Provide Family Center Treatment to all families and guide them through the four phases of treatment in a timely manner.
  • Complete and maintain all program fidelity documents in a timely manner.
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of each family, often requiring evening and weekend meetings.
  • Assist/complete other projects/duties as requested by members of management.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • If not certified or licensed, complete training in behavioral health services provision from a licensed medical person experienced in behavioral health or a certified Behavioral Agency before providing care to Medicaid beneficiaries.
  • If not certified or licensed, complete an initial 40-hour classroom training to obtain a QBHP certificate, with ongoing training of at least eight hours per 12-month period.
