About The Position

The Family Centered Services Regional Director will lead a large, multi-county program delivering critical services to families across the region. This role oversees a diverse array of services—including but not limited to family casework, evidenced based practice models, parenting education, family preservation, family interaction and kinship support, while ensuring compliance with state contracts, accreditation standards, and agency expectations. This position offers the opportunity to lead a high-impact, multi-service program across a broad geographic area, supervise and develop a strong leadership team, drive program innovation and continuous quality improvement, collaborate with state agencies, community partners, and internal stakeholders, and shape services that directly improve outcomes for children and families.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field required.
  • Minimum of four years of related counseling and supervisory experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required.
  • Ability to travel regularly within the service area and the state of Iowa as needed.
  • Maintain all required certifications, trainings, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to respond effectively to program challenges and operational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in social work or related field preferred, with at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing programs, staff, and contracts in human services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall direction and management of the Family-Centered Services program across multiple counties.
  • Ensure program operations align with contractual requirements, accreditation standards, and agency policies.
  • Oversee program structure, service delivery, and infrastructure to ensure effective and compliant operations.
  • Monitor program performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Supervise and support FCS leadership team, including supervisors, direct service staff, and support functions (QA/QI, billing, intake, training).
  • Lead hiring, training, performance management, and staff development efforts.
  • Facilitate regular leadership meetings to review data, address challenges, and improve service delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate program services to ensure responsiveness to community needs.
  • Ensure effective use of evidence-based practices such as SafeCare, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing.
  • Support development of new initiatives and enhancements to strengthen service outcomes.
  • Represent CFI in local and statewide meetings, workgroups, and partnerships with HHS and community providers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders to support coordinated service delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal programs to ensure integrated and holistic support for families.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of all program documentation, reports, and case records.
  • Monitor compliance with licensing, accreditation (COA), and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee program budget and ensure operations remain within financial parameters.
  • Utilize data and reporting to track outcomes and support decision-making.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance program effectiveness and client outcomes.
  • Coordinate with leadership (including VP and CFO) to address operational needs, including facility and safety considerations.
  • Support resource development efforts in collaboration with the Foundation team.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding program performance, challenges, and opportunities.
