The Tennessee Alliance for Economic Mobility (TAEM) is a collaboration of Middle Tennessee non-profits and agencies who work together to ensure families become more and more economically self-sufficient by achieving outcomes in education, employment, income, and stability. The upcoming pilot, funded by a one-year TDHS contract, provides additional support to 200 families who will be rolling over from an expiring four-year contract that was designed to help families increase stability, advance economically, and move past benefit cliffs. The Family-Centered Coach works directly with participants in a collaborative process to help identify and achieve children, caregiver, and family goals. Using Family-Centered Coaching, the Coach strives to serve the whole family, keeping the participants in the driver’s seat, and centering families as the experts on their own strengths and perceived challenges ahead. The Family-Centered Coach serves as a member of the Family Success Network (FSN) team using a collaborative, team-based service model. While employees have a primary program assignment, all Family Success Network staff share responsibility for providing excellent customer service, direct support, and resource coordination to families throughout the organization. Staff are expected to work across programs and departments to ensure families receive comprehensive, coordinated, and responsive services.
